Most of us probably already too often heard it said optical fiber, but when asked to explain what it is the optical fiber for some people not so familiar with this one type of cable. Type Fiber Optic Cable
fiber optic cable itself has two types, namely:

     1.  Single mode, ie fiber optic cable has a smaller core with a size of 9 micron. Has a function to transmit infrared laser light (wavelength of 1300-1550 nm), which can only propagate light through one core at a time.     
     2. Multimode, while multimode used for commercial purposes. Has a larger core and enabling hundreds of scattered light through the fiber mode at the same time. For its diameter, has a diameter of 62.5 micron multimode and has a function mengantarkah infrared light with a wavelength of 850-1300nm.
The function of the fiber optic cable itself is to protect local networks such as LAN (Local Area Network. Since the fiber optic cable is made of glass and coated with powerful ingredients that make it not easily damaged, so that the cable is suitable for maintaining the stability of the network in the agency or a companies with buildings. Even for today, fiber optics have been used on subsea network to connect the country with other countries.
